JobDescAccountability  Accountable to the Engineering Manager for ensuring that all Mechanical and Piping work is safe, technically robust and delivered in a cost effective and timely manner. Basic Functions The position will require the successful candidate to undertake the following roles & responsibilities  (This list is not exhaustive):- • Provide supervision, direction and support for all Mechanical/Piping discipline engineering personnel. • Develop and maintain a Mechanical/Piping team structure to provide a scalable resource base to meet project demands. • Develop and maintain the Piping work plans and ensure delivery against the plans. • Proactive interaction with other interdependent disciplines on the project team (Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance) • Provide first point piping technical consultancy to the team and liaise with THE COMPANY specialist consultants and client TA where necessary. • Promote and develop new design technology solutions for the overall benefit of project delivery. Review of lessons learnt from decommissioning projects to promote continuous improvement in the execution of decommissioning projects. • Ensure that all Piping work complies with the COMPANY management system and that technical integrity standards are maintained. • Review Client Engineering Technical Practices for applicability to decommissioning projects and obtain deviations as required. • Monitor Piping discipline performance, develop and implement discipline business improvement plans. An Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or related subject is preferable and Chartered membership of recognised engineering institution desirable. Proven engineering experience is required which should include proven experience in the petrochemical industry Able to work within budgets and prepare accurate cost and man hour estimates from client outline requirements. • Coach and develop younger engineers and designers. • Proficient with use of Microsoft database, spreadsheet and word-processing packages. • Demonstrates Excellent Oral & Written Communication. • Ability to interface with client on a daily basis and have a positive ‘can do’ attitude. • Able to confront & resolve difficult personnel issues. • Demonstrates integrity and accepts responsibility. • Supervisory skills. • Must be able to work with minimal supervision. • Full certification to travel to UK offshore installations preferred. Willingness and fitness to obtain such certification essential. • Thorough competency in piping materials, specs, codes and standards, piping layout. • Sound understanding of principals of pipe stress analysis (‘hands on’ stress analysis competency not required) • Proven experience in Oil & Gas or equivalent in a design environment with an engineering contractor or operator. • Proven track record in offshore brownfield engineering and design projects. • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related subject. Candidates with an HNC/HND qualification and necessary experience will also be considered for the position
