| JobDesc | To exploit business opportunities and ensure that products and services meet the required quality standards, by producing required Engineering Drawings for use in the Manufacture, Assembly, and Testing of new, or modifications to existing, product lines in order to meet actual or anticipated future customer needs. The position is one of the main points of contact between the designers who develop the design parameters based upon the product requirements determined by the sales teams, and the manufacturing plants who make the products in line with the drawings based upon these parameters. The role is measured by the accurate interpretation of design parameters into effective drawings that can be used to manufacture the products against time and quality requirements. Awareness through design activities of importance in cost reduction using value engineering practices in line with manufacturing / assembly and test. No direct financial responsibilies. Perform general drafting duties such as: Production of Engineering Drawings for use in the Manufacture, Assembly and Testing of products using CAD systems. Participation in project groups in relation to drawing and administration, if appropriate. Archive, update and generally maintain Drawing Files. Preparation of Test Procedures. Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment. Review, understand and comply with The Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policy, Manual, Procedures or other related documentation. Apply any particular client HSE requirements to the engineering activities and work areas. Uphold the responsibilities as detailed in the Quality Policy, Manual, Procedures or other related documentation. Communicate to Managers / Supervisors any perceived non-conformances or faults in the Quality Management System. Must possess tertiary education in a Technical Subject. Ideally should have an OND or equivalents in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject. Must have proven experience in a Design / Drawing office, and have good knowledge of CAD and other PC drawing system packages. Ideally should have a working knowledge of ProE, AutoCAD, Genius and/or SDRC system packages. Must be able to use the right information and / or systems and / or technology, and be able to identify and implement improvements as appropriate. Must be a team player with good communication skills, both verbal and written. |
